Visiting Namtso Lake to meet yaks
(Lake Namtso, 2004 summer)

I visited the Namtso lake, the second largest salt lake in Tibet.
This time I tried a one-day trip from Lhasa for the first time.
Now Lhasa - Namtso takes only six hours because the road has become better and better.

Only two or three hours away from Lhasa, I could only see the vast and pleasant grassland with yaks.

An old woman came to sell something when I reached the pass to see the Nyenchen Tangla mountains
although it could not be seen with much clouds.

The well-known rock towers beside the lake resembles a wife and a husband.

God! The lakeside was crowded with Chinese tourists.
Almost all the tour members were taking pictures riding on yaks at the shore.

They had left on buses at last!
I felt relieved and came down to the shore.

Then, a herd of yaks appered from beyond the grassland.
They started bathing.

Yes, they can feel relieved now, too :)
